Dr. Lori Sportelli brings more than 22 years of optometric experience to Katzen Eye Group’s Parkton location, where she leads the optometry team. She received her BS in Biology at Wilkes University of Pennsylvania in 1990 before continuing on to Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry in 1994. Dr. Sportelli received Clinical Honors during her Optometric Externships at a private practice in North Miami Beach, Florida and at USPHS Native American Indian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition to providing eye-care services to residents in East-Baltimore, Dr. Sportelli has practiced optometry in McCook, Nebraska and at the University of Maryland Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sportelli is a member of the American Optometric Association, Maryland Optometric Association (MOA), and Greater Baltimore Optometric Society where she has served as president. She was named Optometrist of the Year by the MOA and also a past Young Optometrist of the Year honoree.
Dr. Sportelli is actively involved with charitable organizations such as Health Care for the Homeless, Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and Maryland Center for Education and Training.
